Probably old news for most/all of you, but have you seen Studio Jams on BET Jazz? If not, I think you will enjoy it -- I've become quite addicted. Here is the way they describe it:
    ____
    Studio Jams: (Thursday 10 a.m., 6 p.m., 11 p.m.) (Sunday 12 p.m., 8 p.m., 11 p.m.)
Studio Jams is an inside look at making music and many of the players are working with each other for the first time. Each 60 minute episode features a diverse group of accomplished jazz and blues musicians gathered together in a recording studio for the sole purpose of creating fresh, new music. Artists include: Tuck Andress & Joey DeFrancesco, Bela Fleck & Pat Martino, The Yellowjackets, Stanley Jordan and more.

Can you tape this? Email me...maybe we can trade something. I don't have that channel. If it's what I think it is, I'm interested. Have you seen the Steely Dan DVD? I loved that...anything that has to do with the "process" I'm into.

Pocket, are you referring to that Aja DVD? I always see it and wonder if I should buy it. Any good Gadd footage, etc?

Yea, I love the process too. And with this show it is basically all process. That is, there really isn't a product. They aren't recording a real record (although these might be released somewhere that I don't know about). It is just a group of musicians who don't usually play together, working out songs and then playing a few.

Unfortunately you have to pay for BET Jazz (where I live at least). I've always wanted that channel and Ovation...

Don't think there's any Gadd Fotage. Mostly Bernard Purdie, and Rick Marotta. Gadds playing on the title number Aja is like one of the best takes he's ever done IMO
